Online Bible Study - Foundations of Faith

Baptism

Truthfully, this is something that only God Himself can answer. God tells us that we should be willing to give up our life for Jesus. God tells us not to be afraid! He promises His continual care. He warns, "Whoever denies Me before men, him will I also deny before my father which is in heaven" (Matthew 10:33). Only God can judge in these cases. However, as fellow Christians, we should pray for them, and continue to perform works of love so that the world may know about the love of Jesus. In a world full of Jesus' love, one would have no fear of being baptized.

If people say that they believe, we must encourage them to be baptized. If they refuse, we cannot force them. Instead, we must love them and show them God's love, care, and protection. In the end, however, their salvation is completely up to God's grace and mercy. We must not stop witnessing, urging, and helping them to obtain baptism, as God has commanded it.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Please study the Bible Teachings lesson concerning "The Work of the "Holy Spirit" for information from the Bible on this topic.

Conclusion
Baptism is a blessed gift from God to those who believe in him. Each day we should rise and remember our baptism in prayer and submission. We should thank God for that wonderful day that our sins, and Satan within us, were drowned in baptism's holy waters. We know that ".baptism now saves you." (1 Peter 3:21). Thanks and praise to God.
