Online Bible Study - Our New Life in Christ
Who's in Charge Here?
God's love for us is so great! He created us, gives us all that we need to live our daily lives, and watches over us each and every day. But the best proof of all that God loves us is this: Even though we have sinned, even though we continue to disobey His will for our lives, God still wants a very special relationship with us. He still wants for us to call Him "Father" and still wants us to be His own children! Please turn to Romans 5:6-11 and read the beautiful words St. Paul has written there. In what way were we the enemies of God before Jesus' death? (verse 8) What does St. Paul mean when he says that "now we are put right with God"? (verse 10) So we don't sin anymore. We live perfect lives and never do anything that would displease God. Oh, how we wish that were true! But don't you still sometimes get angry with other people? And don't you sometimes do or say things that would hurt them? Can you remember a time when you didn't speak the truth, or when you took something that really belonged to someone else? We still have the problem of sin.of disobeying God's law and making Him angry with us. How can we take care of this problem under the New Covenant? Read 1 John 1:8-10. What must we do before God will forgive our sins?
