Because of our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we have been set free! Set free from our sins because we have the forgiveness Christ won for us on the cross. We have been set free from the power of the Devil because the Spirit of God will help us resist his temptations. We have been set free from the power of death because we will live forever with our God in His Kingdom.

But because of God's great love for us, and because of our love for God, we are careful how we use that freedom. Please turn to the words of St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:12-14.

What are some of the things that the Devil will use to make us slaves?  

If we become slaves of food, drink, smoking or worrying, what will happen to the bodies that God has given us?  

For what reason did God give us our bodies (verse 13)  

Can we carry out that purpose if we surrender our bodies to those things that tempt us so much?  

Remember, though, that the temptations of Satan are powerful! And those temptations are around us all the time. Where can we find the help we need to fight those temptations? Read James 1:22-25.
