Eat, Drink, and be Merry?
Not only does our regular contact with God's Word help us to fight temptation, but we also have another very powerful weapon. You can read about that weapon in 1 Peter 2:21-25. Why did Christ suffer for us and leave us an example? (verse 21) What are some of the ways that St. Peter suggests to follow in His steps? Does it comfort you to know that Jesus Christ is the Shepherd and Keeper of your soul? In what ways? Jesus, as our example, can make us stronger than any temptation the Devil can put in our way! We have God's Word, we have Jesus' example to follow, and added to those we also have a beautiful promise from our God! Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13. What is the promise that God makes in these verses? Can you think of any examples in your own life of when God provided you with a way out of a strong temptation?
