7. ONE AND ONE.AND ONE.CANNOT BECOME ONE!

God gave us the gift of human love.that a man and a woman might love one another very deeply, marry and have a family. But what happens when another person enters the picture? Can a person who is married deeply love another, a man or woman other than their spouse? God gives a rather firm answer to that question. In Exodus 20:14, the section of the Bible called "The Ten Commandments," God says, "Do not commit adultery."

But, what does it mean to commit adultery? Some people say that the word "adultery" applies only to a sexual relationship between a man and a woman, one (or both) of whom is married to another. Read Jesus' teaching in Matthew 5:27 & 28.

How does He define committing adultery?  

God's command is strict, and Jesus' teaching is even stricter, but both are given for a very good reason. God gave us the blessing of marriage, and He does not want us to destroy that blessing. He does not want any of us to hurt one another by giving our love to someone outside the marriage. Proverbs 5:15-20 brings out the positive side of God's command. Those same words could be addressed to a woman, telling her to love, cherish and be happy with her husband!
