Yes! We have a God who loves us tenderly, who cares for us as a loving father cares for his children, who provides all we need for our bodies and souls. He has filled the world with His great and wonderful gifts.

Because God loves us so dearly, He has given us a very important place in His marvelous creation. Not only are we the receivers of all His gifts, we are also given the honor of being caretakers for all those gifts. We learn about that special honor by reading Psalm 8.

What do verses 1 and 2 tell us about the greatness of God?  

Does the Psalm writer feel that we deserve any special honor from this great God?

But God loves us, and His love causes Him to treat us with respect and confidence.

In what ways does God show that He wishes us to hold a very important place in His world?

What does God say about our relationship to His other creatures in verse 26?  

What do you think He means when He says, "Have power over."? Does that mean that we can abuse those creatures in any way we wish? Why or why not? In verse 28, God says humans will bring the creation "under their control".
