Bible Study - The Promise Is to You
Welcome to lesson three of our Bible Study which tells of God's promise of salvation through His Son, Jesus. With the completion of the last class you reached the half-way mark in your study. We are sure that you will finish the next two classes and continue what will be a life-long friendship with God. Remember that the title of our lessons, "The Promise Is to You," is quoted from the first sermon preached about the Savior. In the first lesson you heard God's promise that makes you one of his children. In the second lesson we shared with you:
- How our first parents fell into sin
- We should fear, love and trust God above all things
- We should love our neighbor as ourself
- We need Jesus' righteousness to get into heaven
- Sin is passed on from Adam, but Christ gives righteousness
- Sin will be separated from God's world and God's people in the judgment of God on the last day
- Christians still sin but have forgiveness through Christ
Many people have access to this Bible study and we are always amazed at the number of people who, by the power of the Spirit, are now calling Jesus "Savior." It is our prayer that everyone in the world know the Lord of life. It is possible that you may have had some bad experiences with religion in the past. If that is the case, this lesson is for you! We will be doing our very best to stand boldly against the devil who tries to frighten people away from God. Be sure, the Lutheran Hour Ministries, which prepare and distribute this lesson series, wants you to know Jesus as Lord.
Remember to:
- Read and think about the answer that God gives. Pay special attention to the Bible passages. Share them with others.
- Answer the questions on the last two pages, send them back to us with any thoughts you have.
