Name: Scottish Shortbread

lb butter, softened

cup fruit sugar

cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ cup
corn starch
Cream
butter; gradually beat in sugar.
Add salt and ½ cup
corn starch and mix thoroughly.
Add 1 cup flour and mix well.(Easiest
with hands). Repeat until all
corn starch and flour have been
used. Shape into a ball and
knead 3 or 4 times on a floured
board or until dough is easily
handled. Press dough into a
cookie pan with sides (15 by
10 by 3/4").
Prick with a fork. Bake for
about 1 hour at 300F. Remove
from oven and cut into one-inch
squares, but leave in pan to
cool.The shortbread should be
about 1/4" thick.
