LHM-Lebanon Staff is Safe After Fighting Breaks Out in Beirut Release No: 08-37 By Tyler Yeargain

May 13— Beirut, Lebanon: Violence broke out in Lebanon over the weekend, resulting in 44 confirmed deaths, 140 wounded, and an end to a relatively calm chapter in the countries internal conflict. Since the general elections 17 months ago, Shiite Hezbollah and the Sunni government have been at odds with each other. The country is without a leader, as Hezbollah has blocked the election of a president in parliament since November.
Thankfully, we have received word that the LHM-Lebanon staff and office are fine. "The Christian area is not involved in this struggle over power and thus the staff and board members are all fine, and the office operations was not affected by this violence," said Fadi Khairallah, Director.
